From 2 feet to 2 wheels

Ugghhh - guess it's time to get back on the bike. I'd left my road bike in Ireland when I was back there in June so I had great plans to bike this past weekend - to ease myself back into IM training. Didn't quite work out that way. But on a positive note I didn't get charged a penny for lugging the bike box back across the Atlantic. How's about that? In this era of charging for wearing a coat onboard. The lady at Aer Lingus just directed me to Oversize luggage and then it was checked through AMS to MSP and there is was sitting waiting for me when I got through immigration. Which reminds me - the immigration officer was very nice and friendly but thought I should have additional paperwork along with my visa. He was really adamant and I was sure he wasn't going to let me through. It would have been fine in the end, I do have some letters somewhere (green card application is in progress hence his query) but after travelling for 18 hours I was not in the mood for an interrogation. Anyway, it all worked out.

Back to the bike. Yeah, tomorrow will be quite the awakening. We just have a 3hr ride planned so it should be ok. But I know I should really be doing another 4-5hr one on Sunday. But instead am planning a trip to Afton. What the soul wants the soul shall get. And next weekend is TCM so there'll be no long bike. Then I'm planning on heading up to Duluth for the fas ass that Andy Holak is putting on. And then it's like just 5 weeks to IM. Ohmigod I am so dead. I have completely rethought my 11:22 goal but I will leave it on the list anyway and just see how miserably I fail.

As for swimming, don't even go there...

end of post.

I waver between thinking you're train of thought is like your self-motivation technique or that you're in denial of your immense talent.

miss helen, you rock my face off. you'll likely crush your goals and then some.

I know better now than to tell you to rest.

Go get 'em.

You sound way too happy Keith. I think you need to go back to your old job :)

A healthy chip on my shoulder goes a long way toward my self motivation. But that's a whole 'nother post...
